Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEVERLEY ANNE SANDISON March 9, 1937 - May 26, 2017 Beverley Anne Sandison, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2017 in the Harrison, a loving and caring 'Full Care' community at Elim Village, Surrey, BC. Born in Selkirk, Manitoba, Bev resided in the nearby town of Lockport for the first 67 years of her life. In 2004, she sold her trailer home and joined her brother and sister-in-law as they moved out west to British Columbia. During her time in Manitoba, Bev worked as an office clerk for the Canadian Wheat Board in Winnipeg, retiring in 1995 after 42 years of loyal and committed service. In her spare time, Bev loved volunteering at the local Royal Canadian Legion, helping out with Bingo and preparing sandwiches for luncheons. Bev also enjoyed team bowling, line dancing, and passionately cheering on 'her' Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers! Upon her move to the West Coast, Bev spent as much time as possible with family, showing up to countless games of soccer, baseball, and hockey. As long as her nephew or great-nephews were on the team, she was there! Bev also enjoyed her friends in Chelsea Gardens, exercising with them in the pool, playing cards in the Club House, and sharing life together over lunch or coffee. In her early years, Bev faithfully attended the St. Thomas Anglican Church with her mother and brother, just a short walk down the street from where they lived. Occasionally, she would also visit McDermot Avenue Baptist Church in central Winnipeg. Later on, she continued to grow in her knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ at Bethany Baptist Church in Richmond, BC. Bev will truly be missed for her incredibly loving, compassionate, generous, and caring heart! She definitely preferred to think of others, over herself. Bev was predeceased by her father, John Walter (Second World War), mother Pearl (1993), and brother, John Wayne (2011). Bev is survived by her sister-in-law Verna Sandison, nephew Darrell (Evie) Sandison, great-nephew Daniel (Desiree) Sandison, great-nephew Jonas Sandison, and many other friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Harrison West Building at Elim Village, Surrey, BC. In fulfilling Bev's wishes, her burial will take place at a later time (yet unknown) at the St. Andrews Anglican Cemetery, St. Andrews, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bev's name to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) or to the Gideons International In Canada (www.gideons.ca).
