MAY E. CONOLLY (nee DONALD) Peacefully on June 14, 2017, at Concordia Place Personal Care Home, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother left us at 96 years of age. May was born in Winnipeg on November 20, 1920, to Frank and Mabel Donald. She was the eldest of seven siblings, one of whom died in childhood. May was predeceased by her parents; sisters: Kay and Doris; brothers: Allan and Basil; her husband of 33 years, (William) Herbert Conolly, and her daughter May Garrett (June, 2016). May remained a widow for 42 years after her husband's death in 1975. May's memory will be cherished by her surviving children: John (Nancy), Pat (Joe) Marusic, Lorene (Ken) Coleshill, Donald, Robert (Louise) and David (Erica); her son-in-law Wayne Garrett as well as 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. May was responsible, even at a young age, for caring for her siblings and the family cow (until her unfortunate altercation with the latter). She enjoyed cooking, especially making wedding cakes and preserving vegetables. She was a talented seamstress who worked for Down Industries, and also an accomplished knitter and embroiderer. Family was extremely important to May, and she enjoyed spending time with them at every opportunity. May's family sends heartfelt thanks to the 3rd floor staff of Concordia Place Personal Care Home, and the Palliative Care team, for their compassion and dedication in the last years of May's life. A small service to commemorate May's life has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to the Concordia Foundation. "Our memories of you will never cease, but we rejoice that your soul is now at peace." www.voyagefuneralhome.com
