NANCY VIOLET VESEY (LABOSSIÈRE) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, aunt and friend to all, Nancy Vesey. Nancy will be sadly missed by her husband Norman, daughter Michelle (Chris), her four-legged grandson Riley, her sister-in-law Linda (Curly) and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Lydia and Richard Labossière. Nancy was born and raised in Winnipeg. After graduating from St. Maurice School, Nancy went on to become a bookkeeping machine operator at Gambles of Canada. There, she met Norman and they married in 1971. After daughter Michelle was born in 1977, Nancy stayed home to raise the family and spent her time volunteering for various organizations. She was involved in school outings, hotdog days, book and bake sales at École Centrale. She spent many hours running the bingo at East End Community Club as well as working the canteen. The family's love of ringette got Nancy involved with the Transcona Ringette Association, and the Winnipeg Ringette League. In 2005, Nancy won Ringette Manitoba's volunteer of the year award. When she wasn't volunteering, Nancy enjoyed spending time at the family cottage at Long Lake. Norm and Nancy enjoyed many hours of fishing and playing card games with family and lake friends. Nancy loved people. She enjoying sharing her many jokes and her recipes with others. She had a very creative mind and loved making ornaments and different gifts for her friends and family. Respects can be given as we celebrate her wonderful life at an "open house" at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day Street, on Monday, June 26 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy's name to a charity of your choosing.
