ANNA ROCHON July 7, 1932 - June 15, 2017 Peacefully on Thursday, June 15, our loving mom/memere/grand-grand-mère went to join her loving husband Alain, her parents, her brothers and her sisters, after fighting a long and courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Mom will always be remembered for her love of family, her hard work as well as her never ending willingness to help her son Ron and wife Nicole and their children, Adam (Georgette), Marc (Breanne), Crystal (Britt), and Leanne (Jos), as well as her daughter Lynn and husband Denis, and their children, Jared (Carolyn), Daniel (Ashley), Bam-Bam, Kelly (Rob), Chris (Maggie), and Kari-Anne (Rob), and great-grandchildren, Nariko, Boston, Etta, Libby, Malachai, Madeline and Sophie. Anna is survived by her brother-in-law Laurent Fillion, and her sisters-in-law, Aline Grouette and Agathe Rochon. Anna was born on July 7, 1932 and was the youngest child of Ildas and Clementine Dugas (Manaigre). On July 2, 1955 she married the love of her life, Alain, and was very heartbroken when he passed away in April, 2005. Mom was an extremely hard working woman who was as happy making clothes for her children as she was in the bush cutting firewood, cooking gourmet meals, building birdhouses or building the family cabin with Dad. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jacqueline, Jeanne, and Therese and her brothers, Alphonse, Hector, Gerard and Come. Right until the end, Mom always spoke very highly of her big brothers and sisters and I'm sure her departure has opened the door to a great reunion leading to some amazing reminiscing, which may even include a bit of moonshine being consumed. Anna Banana, completed Grade 12 in Lorette. After graduation, at the age of 19, she went directly into teaching Grade 2 for one year in Lorette followed by two years at St. Eugene School. After her marriage to Dad, Mom stayed home to raise her children. Once Ron and Lynn were both in school, Mom started work at St. Amant Centre as a nurse's aide. This was Mom's career until she retired in 1984 to enjoy her and Dad's pride and joy, their cabin at Lee River. A very special thank you to the nieces, nephews and friends who made Mom very happy with your visits, lunch dates, phone calls, FaceTime conversations, emails and love. Mom loved you guys lots! The family would like to thank Dr. Sheldon Permack, Scott and Sandy for the loving care they have given Mom over the years. Your professionalism, dedication and friendship were very much appreciated. In our mom's memory, please pay forward an act of kindness and give your loved ones an extra large hug. Mom's celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private family interment of Mom's cremated remains will follow at the La Salle Cemetery at a later time. • I have great memories of growing up alongside of the Rochon family in La Salle. I can still hear both Anna and Al playing the organ as Ron and I would be playing cards.
