ANTHONY ORESTE BUCCINI March 28, 1985 - June 20, 2017 Heaven has one more angel. It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden loss of our dear son and brother, Anthony Oreste Buccini, due to complications with pneumonia on June 20, 2017. Anthony will be sadly missed by his mother, Gwen Buccini, and father, Dominic Buccini, his sisters, Lisa-Marie Buccini, and Christa Conrad (Jason), niece and nephew, Adriana and Romeo, and many relatives and friends. He will also be extremely missed and forever remembered by his Arcane Horizon Group Home family who he has lived with for the past 12 years. Anthony was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Margery Pucci, and Oreste and Bice Buccini, and godfather, Ted Bicknell. Anthony took great pleasure in the simple things in life - he swam like a fish, danced like nobody was watching, and loved any and all music (he would get so excited when his friend Angie would play "American Pie" for him - probably because he thought the song was actually about pie!) He truly loved food, especially Boston Pizza, as this was a Sunday night family tradition growing up. Life couldn't get any better for Anthony than having pizza, Pepsi, and cake/pie with family and friends! During his time here on earth, Anthony fulfilled the two greatest roles one can have - servant and teacher. He spent much of his time volunteering for the Tabs for Wheelchairs program that his mother spearheaded 19 years ago. His drive, dedication, and sheer enjoyment of sorting and bagging tabs was unparalleled. He was the behind the scenes, main man of the program and the results of his efforts made a huge and lasting impact on the lives of many wheelchair recipients. Those of us who shared in Anthony's life were truly blessed. He taught us unconditional love, patience, compassion, and acceptance. We will all carry those lessons, and him, with us forevermore. A special thanks to the wonderful doctors and staff in the emergency room and Intensive Care Unit at the Victoria General Hospital who were exemplary in their care and treatment of our special angel. Funeral mass and Celebration of Life will be co-celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 by Father Gerry Ward and Father Sam Argenziano. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ronald McDonald House would be greatly appreciated. 'And whoever welcomes a child like this in my name, welcomes me.' Matthew 18:5

  • Anthony " Booch" Buccini holds a very special place in my heart. He was like family to me. Everyday I came into work I was always happy and excited to see him, and he showed me the same happiness and excitement when he saw me. Big smiles, happy man and all the "keebies" and kisses I could ask for. Everyone who knows Anthony knows he sure can brighten any room, any mood. He has such a great personality with such great character. He had his times he was very animated and put on a good show with lots of laughs. I will miss that smile, those hugs and " keebies ". I will miss our outings and dance parties. I will miss our good shows and our "good nights/good sleep" as he would say. I can't put into words all the things I loved and will miss about Anthony.   • We are so sorry to hear about the sudden loss of Anthony. Our son Derik has lived with him for the past 12 years. He and Derik were close friends. Derik always had kind words to say about Anthony. They loved watching The Big Bang Theory and football together. They also loved singing and dancing. Last summer the boys and some of Arcane staff came to our cottage for a few days. Anthony really enjoyed his time there. We have such fond memories of the annual Christmas parties with Angie leading the singing and the boys and families all singing together. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Buccini family.
