IRENE (EDNA) MACDONALD November 2, 1926 - June 23, 2017 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Edna lived a long, fulfilling, happy life, and after a brief illness it was time for her to lay down and have a well deserved rest. Edna was predeceased by her husband John MacDonald, her eldest granddaughter Krista MacDonald, as well as several other family members. She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Bruce) Johnston, her sons, Daniel (Barbara) MacDonald and Neil (Wendy) MacDonald. Also left to mourn her are her grandchildren, Cody (Julie), Trevor (Rose), Kelly Riemann, John MacDonald and Neil (Kala). Edna's great-grandchildren, who lit up her life and will miss her terribly, Jessica and Curtis, Braden and Hannah, and Kara and Kaylyn. Also left to mourn Edna are her three remaining sisters, Mary Maleski, Ethel Borkowsky and Gerry Hedley, and numerous nieces and nephew. We all thank this wonderful women for the love, support and life lessons she taught each and everyone of us. Never fear Mom you taught us all well and your peroghys, cabbage rolls and helena buns will live on as each new generation learns how to make them. We'll love you to the moon and back forever. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or The Winnipeg Humane Society. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall 204-467-2525 info@mackenziefh.com

Barbara, Danny, Neil and family. Myself and my kids send our deepest condolences to you all. I am very saddened by the loss of Edna. I carry such cherished memories in my heart of her from when your Uncle Chuck and I were first married, living in Manitoba, and when we had kids of our own and used to come and visit after we had moved to BC. I will miss our phone calls. Edna was a a fantastic person and will be missed deeply. Our hearts go out to you all.
