My condolences to Maryanne and family. I remember driving Laurie from The Wellington to visit Leo at the Charleswood Care Home. We had great conversations and I loved hearing her stories. The one story she told me, was when she was a child, she would help her dad clear stones from the field and she couldn't understand why people used stones in their yard as decorations. She was referring to a few homes along Grant and Roblin Blvd. that had them displayed. She was a remarkable lady. - Posted by: Bev Lischinski (personal driver) on: Jun 30, 2017

Auntie Laurie and Uncle Leo were my god parents. I stayed with them one summer to undertake some training in figure skating. They were very good to me during that time--even when I left ice cream out and it melted all over the floor. At 14 I was entirely focused on running out to the new friends I had made. I will always remember Auntie Laurie for her sense of fun. She had a wonderful sense of humor and she loved to dance. She was also a great cook and we had many opportunities to enjoy her family's company and wonderful food. I also remember how she liked to talk baby talk to the younger ones. It was very evident how much she loved her children and their children. I am saddened that I will be unable to attend the funeral. Auntie Laurie brought a lot of vitality into the world and that is what I will remember about her the most. She will be greatly missed. - Posted by: lynn purvis (god child) on: Jun 28, 2017
