• Mr. Bockstael was a neighbour growing up I hung around with Larry. Whenever his dad came along he was always so happy to see us playing He was a kind and big hearted giant to me.I remember playing countless hours on some of his construction sites or even in his construction yard across from his home on Gaboury Pl. I always think of all you kids.Or should I say grown up.I miss those days! Another great one has left! • Our families share a lot of history. During the last two years we were often discussing history & politics in phone calls and when I visited Winnipeg in the last two years we discussed for hours and over good meals. He was sharp as a tack in recalling life events & my family also appreciated the role he played as communion minister at my late mother's funeral fours years ago. He worked hard his entire life, he was proud of his family and spoke often of them, especially John's devotion to him in the last two years, he prospered and he gave back ten-fold to his community. • Although I worked more with Dave, Larry and John, you always felt Robert's stewardship was well installed as a business philosophy in the company. Always a gentleman, Robert gave his time graciously to young professionals and loved to talk about construction. • Sad to learn of Mr. Bockstael's passing. He was one of the friendliest customers I had the pleasure to serve at the pharmacy I used to work at in Southdale. • So sad to hear of Robert Bockstael. I will miss him! He finally let me give him a brush cut the week before! He came knocking at my door during lunch and I couldn't say no to him! I told him he couldn't tell anyone he was my favorite client! Along with Marietta it was a privilege to have known both of them.
