KATHERINE MARIE KARDYNAL December 8, 1960 - June 25, 2017 After a short illness, Kathy passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on June 25, 2017. She was predeceased by her father Frank, and her nephew Billy. Kathy is survived by her partner Brad, her mother Theresa, Brad's mother Esther, brothers Leonard and Bob (Giselle), sisters Karen (Ray) and Susan (Keith), nephews Simon (Shelly) and Andrew (Tracy), niece Theresa, great-nephews Ashton and Aidon, great-nieces Delaney, Payton and Kora, and many friends. Kathy was born in Brandon, the youngest of five children. The family moved to Winnipeg where she finished her education and began working. Throughout her life, Kathy faced many challenges, one being epilepsy. She was a giving and caring person who was always there when you needed her. She was an avid reader, had a passion for animals, and loved her music, movies and especially good times at Gull Lake. In all aspects of her life she was humble, kind, patient, respectful, generous and caring. She found happiness with Brad, and dearly enjoyed her nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to the staff at Grace Hospital - Ward 3 South for the care and comfort they provided to Kathy and the family. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Thursday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Church, 264 Donwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathy's name to the Epilepsy Foundation of Manitoba. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday"

  • I am so sadened to hear about Kathy's passing. I met Kathy in high school when I came to Canada in 1973, she was my first friend. I remember going to see The DeFranco Family with her. We lost contact over the years and ran into each other a few years ago only to learn we worked for the same company. My condolences to Kathy's family, friends and all who loved her.   • Was so Sorry to hear from John, that Kathy had passed away... I remember having some "Chats" with her when I visited John & Gisela on Leighton Ave. She was always friendly, a very nice Girl....
