EDWARD CHARLES PETER SMITH July 1, 2017 we lost our father, our friend, our hero. He was 86 years old. He has joined the love of his life our beautiful mom, Margaret Jane in heaven. Left to cherish his memory are his children Bev (Bob), Chuck (Sadie), Vera (Craig), Christine (Grant), Eddie, Herb and Warren (Deb), 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his three sisters, extended family and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad loved to tell stories and joke around. He loved to hunt and fish and to explore various camping sites and beaches. He loved to garden, do crossword puzzles and loved to watch various sports, especially hockey. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family. Dad was always there for us and we all knew how much he loved us. We were lucky to have him in our lives. Viewing at 9:30 a.m. with service commencing at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8 at Deliverance Centre, 1831 Selkirk Avenue. Dad will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Amaranth Cemetery following the memorial service. The family wishes to thank the medical team at St. Boniface Hospital for their kind and compassionate care and to Pastor Ray Cornish for being there when we needed him.
