CURTIS WILLIAM DOOLEY With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Curtis Dooley, born August 5, 1988. He died peacefully on June 30, 2017. Beloved son of Dawn Dumanske and Barry Dooley; eldest brother of three to Leah Dooley and Jordan Dooley; grandson of Clarence and Darlene Dumanske; and cherished nephew, cousin, friend and co-worker. Curtis was an inspiration; he was well known for his friendly and supportive nature, upbeat personality and the positive impact he had on everyone who had the pleasure to know him. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten as his spirit lives on through all the lives Curtis touched, by simply being who he was. A celebration of his life is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Dr., Winnipeg, MB. Reception will follow the service. Curtis participated for several years in the 20k Walk, Challenge for Life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 2017 Challenge for Life, in memory of Curtis Dooley. Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • So very, very sorry to hear of your loss. - Posted by: John Allardyce (Friend) on: Jul 14, 2017

  • Our family is so saddened to hear of your loss. May God continue to be with you during this most difficult time. Our deepest condolences. - Posted by: Cathy Rayner Hall (Friend of family member ) on: Jul 14, 2017

  • Curtis was one of the sweetest, most genuine guys I've ever known. We went to middle school together but didn't become friends until we were 17. He helped me get one of my early jobs at The Source and we used to have so much fun working together. My condolences to his family, he was an absolutely wonderful human being. - Posted by: Jasmine (coworker/old friend ) on: Jul 07, 2017

  • Dear Dumanskes & Dooleys, I am devastated by the news of Curtis' passing. Even though I taught many students over my years at JTC, I clearly remember your son/brother/grandson/nephew/cousin and the positive energy he brought to my classroom. In particular, I recall his big smile, his (endearing) smart aleck comments, and the way that he would flick his hair. As you have noted, he touched everyone that he came into contact with. I actually witnessed him form lifelong bonds in the desks before me. The world is less bright without Curtis in it. My thoughts are with you. - Posted by: Elsebeth Hansen-Kriening (History Teacher) on: Jul 07, 2017

  • Curtis was much closer to my sister than he was to me, but due to his relationship with my sister and later on his friendship with many people in my friendship circles, I saw him often. I can't think of a single instance where I felt anything but peace, love & greatness radiating out of Curtis' every cell. Nobody ever disliked Curtis Dooley. He always smiled and was always positive energy. I'll see you on the other side, Curtis. - Posted by: Samantha Lake Gidge (Friend ) on: Jul 07, 2017

  • Sorry for your loss Curtis was always good for a laugh and fun to be around! - Posted by: Graham Romanovsky (High school classmate) on: Jul 07, 2017

  • Curtis was such a very special person. He and I met through friends approximately six years ago. Funny enough, someone tried to get us to date, but our genuine friendship turned us into something more. Ironically, he became the friend that would joke about being my best man, or if I needed someone to fill the spot, he'd "give me away" at my wedding. We spent so many nights together that summer, and cherished each other since. I have thought of so much I could say but, to sum it up, I think the hardest part of his passing, is that I, along with others, can only imagine that he looked forward to so many other days. He was always so happy and full of love. Fortunately, it is also something we can take comfort in; Curtis loved life and smiled nearly every day of it. He will continue to inspire the smiles, memories, and growth of all of those lives he touched, and in that way I think he will continue to be with each and every one of us. Somewhere he is always encouraging us to keep smiling. Sending all of my love to his family and friends. - Posted by: Raissa (Friend) on: Jul 07, 2017

  • Dawn & Barry, heartbroken to hear of your loss, take care. - Posted by: Dave and Cindy Birt (Friend) on: Jul 07, 2017

  • To Curtis's Family, I know Curtis mainly by passing him in our halls in Plant 1 over the past 10 or so years, knew the area and depts he had worked, when I did he would always smile and nod his head hello. My thoughts and best wishes are with you at this most difficult time. Will miss his friendly nod. - Posted by: Mike StandardAero Maint Dept (Coworker) on: Jul 07, 2017

  • Remembering his wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in my heart. I will miss him dearly and think of him often. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Angie Georgeson(Glowa) (Cousin) on: Jul 07, 2017
