RIC (ULRIC) HUPE Ric (Ulric) Hupé, of Surrey, BC, died unexpectedly on June 14, 2017, at the age of 79. Ric is survived by his wife, Louise (née Clark); children, Claude, Jo-Ann, Jacqueline, Carmelle (Tom) and Richard; stepchildren, Susan (Shawn), Bobby (Marina), Darlene (Mikael), Debra and David; 10 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Simone and Noëlline (Eugene); and foster-sisters, Martha and Vicky. He was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyne (née Curtaz); sisters, Jeanne, Doris and Lucille; brother Roger; parents, Jean and Clémence; stepdaughter, Donna; and stegrandchild, Wilder. Ric was born in St. Boniface, MB on April 18, 1938 to Jean (Bob) and Clémence (née Trudeau) Hupé. Having moved to British Columbia in 1967, he spent the vast majority of his life living on the west coast in British Columbia's lower mainland, where he raised his family and built his business. Ric will be remembered and celebrated for his deep love of family and his enjoyment of music. While ever the consummate professional, he was also charmingly charismatic and well known for his teasing wit, and his grace on the dance floor. Ric was a man who was greatly loved, admired and respected, and will leave a very empty space in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. A Celebration of Life took place at the residential home on June 24, where friends and family were invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (www.heartandstroke.ca). Boot is Full - Toodooloo

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Ric and Evelyn. Our deepest and most sincere condolences to the family. I first met these fine people when I boarded at their home in St. Boniface, while working at Degagne Motors. After moving to BC in 1970, and couldn’t find work, stayed with Ric and Evelyn at the corner of Ebert and North Rd. in Coquitlam, and worked for Ric. These were the most wonderful people anyone could ever know !! - Posted by: Allen Inman (Friend ) on: Jul 29, 2021
