In 1968 his career path took him to Pinawa to pursue his employment with AECL. He and Glenna moved to Pinawa in 1972 with their new son Trevor. Don loved Pinawa with his whole heart. He was a permanent fixture on the golf course and at the curling rink. Summers were spent playing with numerous friends in the AECL ball league, as well as fishing the local hot spots. Later in life he enjoyed Caribbean holidays and hobby farming in Kelowna. Funeral services for Don were held July 11 in the Pinawa Lutheran Church with interment in Pinawa Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Bruneau and the staff at Pinawa Hospital for their dedicated and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any charity for world development. Very sorry to hear of your loss. Don was always very kind and neighbourly to us during our time in Pinawa. One time we needed someone to watch our dog Spike for us overnight, Don offered to take care of him. Don must have made a big impression on Spike because, when I went to pick Spike up the next day, we started walking across the road back to our house. Spike stopped and looked back at Don's house. I said, "Spike, come, in the house." He looked at me and turned and ran back across the road toward Don's house. I had to pick Spike up and carry him home. I think that says a lot about the character of Don Zetaruk. Rest in peace Friend. Tom, Cindy, Brett, Eric and Spike Hessian - Posted by: Tom and Cindy Hessian (Friends) on: Jul 18, 2017
