DOROTHY LUROSS It is with sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Dorothy Luross, on July 6, 2017. She died surrounded by family at 95 years of age. Born December 22, 1921 in Virden, MB. She was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Jean Timms and brother, Sanford. In the early 1940s she met a young Mountie at her youth group, named Harold Luross. They married in 1946 and had three children: Bob, Anne and John. Mum is fondly remembered for hosting lavish dinner parties with delicious home cooked meals. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and playing the piano. She was an accomplished artist and long-time member of the St. James Art Club in Winnipeg. Mum sang in church choirs for over 60 yearsmost notably at Westminster United Church in Winnipeg. After Dad retired in 1975, they lived in Winnipeg until 2008, when they moved to Saskatoon to be near family. After Dad's death in 2009, Mum remained at Primrose Chateau to enjoy many outings and friendships. In August of 2016, Mum moved to the Warm 'n' Cozy Personal Care Home. She will be dearly missed by Bob, Anne, John and Nancy, eight grandchildren and their spouses, 10 great-grandchildren and another due in October. She will also be lovingly remembered by many other extended relatives, and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Saskatoon (East on 8th St; first right after Briargate Rd.).
