MARGARET MUIR MILLAR (nee HECTOR) Margaret passed away peacefully Saturday, July 8, 2017 in Thunder Bay. She was born with a twin sister on October 11, 1921 to Jean and James Hector at Polson Avenue in Winnipeg, and was part of a loving family of two sisters and three brothers. Special times were had going for picnics in the city park and trips to Grand Beach. Margaret was a long time resident of Nairn Avenue in Kenora, where she raised her daughter and son with her cherished husband. She enjoyed caring for her home and garden and waged an annual war with the deer who would attempt to eat her favourite flowers. She would often catch most of the fish in the boat on the Lake of the Woods before anyone else had a minnow on their hook. Margaret was an excellent seamstress, knitter and baker, especially renowned for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. Her other favourite activities included curling, golf, bridge games, and UCW gatherings at Knox United Church. A heartfelt thank you to all the caring and compassionate health care workers who helped her, especially in the last few years at Lakehead Manor long term care. Margaret was extremely proud of her grandchildren and the most special times for her were those spent with family. Just recently, Margaret had true joy with the arrival of her first great-granddaughters, Samantha and Avery. Margaret will now take a journey back to "Sunset Country" to be with her husband Alexander James in LOTW Cemetery. A service will be held there at a later date. The highlands near Lanark, Scotland are also calling and a lone piper plays a tune on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Rest in peace Margaret. Online condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com
