Devoted father of Pamela, Michael, David and Paul Carson; loving father-in-law of Sherry Carson; proud grandfather of Adam Carson, Jennifer Carson Daley, Mathew, Lauren and Sam Carson; great-grandfather of Carson Daley. He is survived by his sister Jean Wade and predeceased by sister Nora Hanneson. He is also survived by his nieces, Patty Hatch, Wendy Hildahl, and Joanne Skaftfeld. Art was born in Langruth, Manitoba to Robert and Ellie Carson. He was born on his parents' farm and lived and worked it with his parents and sisters Jean and Nora until he decided to attend United College in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A few years later he began his lengthy career with James Richardson and Sons where he became a partner. In 1953 Art married Joan Dummert. They went on to have four children during their 40 years together, raising their family in Winnipeg, then later in Calgary. Art and family moved to Calgary to open the first Western Canadian office of First Boston Corporation. A few years later Art would change course and go into partnership with Rob Jennings forming Carson, Jennings and Associates. In 1992 Art married Carolyn Maryland and spent most of the last 23 years in Vancouver. He moved to Kelowna a few years ago to be closer to family and recently returned to Calgary for the same reason. His great love was the lake house at Arnes, Manitoba where he purchased property more than 50 years ago and built the family cottage. This was a meeting place for family, friends and relatives, a place where Art felt his farming roots and truly enjoyed the outdoors. A celebration of Art's life will be held at the Manitoba Club located at 194 Broadway in Winnipeg, on July 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Anyone that knew Art is welcome to attend.
