MARTIN REMPEL Peacefully following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Martin with his family by his side on July 23, 2017. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, family and friends. Martin is survived by his wife Sarah, children, Sharon (Roy), Glenn (Cec), Garry (Maria), Gordon and Bradley (Jennifer), grandchildren, Pamela and Emily, and four sisters. He was predeceased by two brothers. Martin was born in the Plum Coulee area in a farmstead to Martin and Annie Rempel in 1934. A hard working farm boy, he met his future wife and loving partner Sarah Zacharias. They married in 1954 and moved to Winnipeg to raise a family. Unbeknownst to them, it would be five children. A hardworking husband and father, he was employed at Pioneer Electric and then moved on to work 24 years at the University of Manitoba. He enjoyed family, playing violin, singing in a seniors choir and travelling the world. A Celebration of Martin's life will take place at Green Acres Funeral Home on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The family wishes to thank the Victoria General Hospital Staff in the ICU and Palliative Care units.
