JAMES (JIM) WARREN O'TOOLE NOTICE OF SERVICE After a brief illness, Jim passed away peacefully on September 22, 2016 in Nanaimo, BC, with family at his side. Born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on July 26, 1923, Jim had a varied and rewarding life. He survived the 1930s drought, flew spitfires and hurricanes as a member of the R.C.A.F. in the Second World War, completed medical school at the University of Manitoba in 1952 and practiced medicine in the St. James area until 1984. Most importantly he was an awesome husband to Betty, father to Kathleen, Dennis, Patrick, Peggy, Maureen, Tom, Rob, Theresa and Shauna, grandfather to 14 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 11, in addition to many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty (McCarthy) in 2008, son Dennis in 1969, brothers, Patrick O'Toole of Kamloops, BC, Floyd O'Toole of Coronation, AB, and sister Joanne Cockwill of Edmonton. An interment mass for Jim will be held on August 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave., with a reception thereafter at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue.

Wonderful Dr and man. Dr O'Toole delivered our first 2 sons. One in 1972 the second 1974. When he delivered them he was like a proud grandfather!! As a young newlywed then New mom he got me through all the ups & downs!! Always felt like I was visiting a very dear friend!
