Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I remember the weekend at Long Lake when we were staying in the Mark's cabin. George and Leo took care of some obstinate campers (two young guys) who were camping at the bottom of the property by setting off a rocket flare right over their tent. These two fellows shot out of the tent like they were under attack! The rest of the weekend they became best buddies with George and Leo! Needless to say the balance of the weekend they were pleasant as could be. - Posted by: Eileen Caron (sister) on: Jul 30, 2017

  • Sincere condolences to all of George's family. I worked for George in the Apprenticeship Branch of Manitoba starting in 1992 as the Apprenticeship Counsellor for The Pas, Flin Flon, Swan River and the Northern section of Manitoba. We had a good working relationship as long as you could prove your point to him about any Interprovincial Examination questions that had confusing or more than one correct answer of the four choices available. These issues were demystified at the many Instructor /Counsellor meetings held in The Pas, Winnipeg, Montreal and Ottawa. George will always be remembered as a fair individual to me while he was Director of Apprenticeship in the Trades Branch of the Manitoba Government. "Requiescat in Pace" George. You will be missed.
