While teaching in rural schools she met John and they married in 1957. They lived and worked in several logging camps in northwest Ontario before settling in Kenora, ON where they raised their three sons. Once the boys were independent, the tranquility of the wilderness attracted them to Cliff Lake, ON where they operated a seasonal tourist camp. They eventually retired in Ear Falls, ON where Pearl was actively involved with the Legion and other community activities. After John's passing in 1996 she moved to Winnipeg where she became an active member of St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Parish. Pearl enjoyed family gatherings and keeping up to date on the news from her many siblings. She loved playing bingo and was an excellent cribbage player. She was an expert making perogies, cabbage rolls and "country chicken". Funeral service will be held at St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt Street in Winnipeg on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
