MARGIE CRESSMAN Margie Cressman of Kenora passed away at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital on August 12, 2017. Beloved wife of Colin Wasacase and loving daughter to her late parents, Wilson and Doris (Pequegnat) Martin. Margie was born in Kitchener, Ontario, on May 18, 1945. She grew up in vibrant, strong extended families on her father's and her mother's side. From both her parents and their families, Margie inherited a powerful imperative to community commitment and development, which she demonstrated in her professional life as a social worker, her many volunteer activities, and her engagement with her community. Margie will be remembered with the greatest love and reverence by her husband, Colin; her daughter, Sheila Ochapowace; her stepdaughters, Allison, Karen, and Sheila Wasacase (Dan Quessy); her brother-in-law Reuben Wasacase and his wife, Maureen; her aunt Peggy Burrows; her sister Nan Martin; her maternal and paternal cousins as well as the extended family of her husband, Colin; and her many good friends and community partners. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Andrews United Church in Keewatin with Pat Chabluk officiating.
