Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANOR ANNE ZUROWSKI (nee SECHMAN) It is with broken hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Surrounded by her family and loved ones Eleanor left us suddenly on August 13, 2017. Eleanor Anne Zurowski (nee Sechman) was born on July 13, 1932 in Winnipeg to Ludwick and Julia Sechman. She is survived by her three daughters, Lori (Tony) and her children Matthew and Ashley, Katherine (Michael) and her children Jade (Brandon) and their children Rose and Nora, Mikaela and Luke, Diane (Trevor) and their daughters Chantal and Camille; her brother Donald Sechman (Melene) and her nieces Julie (Ryan), Laura (Frankie) and Jace. From early childhood she showed great accomplishment, moving through grades one to three in one year. She graduated from high school at the early age of fourteen, and at sixteen she was named Snow Queen of the Winter Club. She worked for CN telegraph and a bank trust company. In 1957 Eleanor married her soulmate and one true love, Mickey. Her true purpose and passion in life was to be a loving wife and mother. She was a gourmet cook, an incredible seamstress and made countless beautiful matching outfits for her and her three daughters. While raising her children, she was highly successful in sales in both Tupperware and real estate. She became a Tupperware Manager and received many of the highest awards. In her forties, despite her fear of water she learned to swim and water ski. Countless family parties were held in her home where she prepared amazing meals and she was always the life of the party. Eleanor made everyone feel so welcome and loved wherever she went. Her kind and generous spirit was felt and known by everyone who knew her. All the children in the family adored and flocked to their Grandma Elly and together they had countless sleepovers and dance parties that left us all with the fondest of memories. Eleanor was a senior aerobic instructor for the City of Winnipeg for many years and did not retire from teaching until the age of eighty. Right to the end Eleanor was constantly on the go. She enjoyed Zumba, barre class, Pilates and took long walks daily. In the past few years Eleanor so generously volunteered at Middle Church Personal Care Home with the elderly and she was loved by all the staff and residents. She was a woman of faith who shared the word of God through reading at mass. She was also a supporter of The Ronald McDonald House and Ride for Dad. She was a force to be reckoned with, a spirit of love and kindness that touched everyone she met. She loved to dance and was an accomplished pianist. Eleanor epitomized what a true mother is, forever giving and sharing with her family. Our lives will never be the same without her, the void is vast and we are all heartbroken. She was called home too early and is now in the hands of our heavenly Father. Thank you to the ER and ICU staff at Concordia Hospital for all their care. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony's Padau Church, 250 Burrin Ave. at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18 with Father Sam Argenziano officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House Winnipeg or charity of your choice.

Dear Mickey, Lori, Kathy , Diane and Family, “What is lovely never dies, but passes into another loveliness, Star-dust or sea-foam, Flower or winged air.” – Thomas Bailey Aldrich Eleanor was so truly lovely and has a special place in my heart. She was full of life and glowed with positivity. She had a great sense of fun and always made you laugh. You couldn't help but smile when she was around. She was an inspiration. She will remind us to live every minute God gives us to the fullest, to put on your party pants and apply your lipstick, and enjoy your family and cherish your friends.
