I was a lil late attending Marlene's funeral because I dreaded going, it was too surreal. As I drove to her place of final rest, small droplets of rain fell; the angels were crying too. Marlene loved angels and I knew she was there with me as I fought the tears. Marlene was more than a friend, she was my soul sister, my confidant; she was my rock, the one person I could rely on for anything I needed, she was the one. We met through work but our friendship remained no matter the distance, time or circumstance. Marlene was a beautiful spirit, she offerred kindness even to those who didnt deserve it, she was forgiving, honest, and loving. She gave me the name "Dr. Betty" and introduced me as such because she was highly respectful of my accomplishments. She always said she was so fortunate to have met me, but really it was me who found the treasure in her friendship. I will cherish the memories I have of her and will miss her forever. I will not say goodbye because I will be with her again when it comes my time to leave this physical existence and I know she will be in the greeting party to bring home to the Creator...Kii-ka-waa-baa-min my sister, until we meet again...my luv remains... - Posted by: Betty Lynxleg (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2017

Occasionally in life you meet that very special person who is a privilege to call a friend. Marlene (Bashk) was my best friend in our school years and my teacher friend. So stunned to hear the sudden passing of a dear friend for 50+ years. She was so cheerful and so helpful in when I needed any advice. A soft spoken woman who loved and lived life to the fullest. Condolences to Marlene's sons, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. I am so honored to have known Marlene and she was a true blessing in my life and I will miss her. A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul has ascended to heaven. May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. Most sincere condolences.
