Grace was my first yoga teacher. As a young woman recovering from an eating disorder and growing up in the dance world - yoga with Grace was the beginning of my healing journey. We were the Friday night group in the late 80's in Winnipeg - Grace's gentle voice and teaching style was a true gift; deep relaxation with music by Enya was always wonderful. Tea after class was a time of sharing and community. Grace always said - yoga is simple - you just need a blanket and a pillow - nothing fancy. Grace really knew how to build a supportive community. So glad Grace got back to the ocean in Vancouver as she often said how she missed the ocean while living in Winnipeg. Love to All. Peace to All. - Posted by: Glenys (Yoga student) on: Sep 21, 2019

Grace had a significant impact on my life. Her heartfelt teaching and soulful storytelling shaped my relationship to body, mind, spirit and health in so many ways. She taught balance. I trained with her, went on retreats, studied her approach, purchased cassette audio tapes, practiced and taught under her tutelage. East, I attended Sivananda classes, a style she introduced to us one day in the Nutty Club peanut factory yoga studio. Grace you were so aptly named. I treasure your memory and the gift you had in creating community. Thank you for your warmth and generosity and open hearted kindness. Peace, peace, peace. I met the Brockingtons in Logan Lake in the early 1970's. Mrs. Brockington was a beautiful lady who lived up the street from my family. I was friends with Timothy for only a short time before they moved. I remember Grace as this beautiful lady who was a very positive and cheerful mother. Timothy and Sally as the perfect proper kids all with English/South African accents. It saddens me to hear of her and Timothy's passing. May they rest in the loving hands of God. - Posted by: Ron Landry (Friend) on: Mar 31, 2018

I took Yoga classes with Grace in Winnipeg in the very early 90s, I really enjoyed it. I met her again when I was in Vancouver in the mid nineties. Her way of teaching was gentle, genuine and relaxing. Her kindness toward me helped me to practice yoga to this day. - Posted by: G.Anita James (Yoga student) on: Nov 20, 2017

I have very fond memories of Grace dating to a visit she and Paul made to my parents when Timothy was a baby. It was so very clear that Grace was a compassionate, caring and engaged person. My mother and I always looked forward to Grace's Christmas letters --her family news and perspective on various topics and issues. Grace inspired me to begin a daily yoga practice which has had a major positive impact on my life. My hope is that memories of Grace and times spent with her will offer healing moments to her family. - Posted by: Susan Eagan (Cousin of Paul Brockington) on: Sep 04, 2017

My wife and I took yoga classes with Grace in the late eighties. We stayed in touch after Grace moved to the coast. She was always so full of life it's hard to accept that she's gone. Her legacy is surely one of teaching people how to live better lives. - Posted by: Andris Taskans (Acquaintance) on: Aug 19, 2017
