ELMER GORDON WATSON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elmer Watson, aged 83, who peacefully passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Maples Personal Care Home, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Barbara Watson; his sons, Rick (Terra) Watson and Rob Watson; son-in-law Rick Baxter; grandchildren, Chad (Amanda) Baxter, Lisa (Greg) Toews and Amber Dzamon; great-grandchildren, Addilyn Toews, Mackenzie and Sydney Salamandyk; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to niece Laura Habina for the time spent with Elmer in his final days. Elmer is predeceased by his precious daughter Leslie Baxter; parents, Gordon and Myrtle Watson; parents-in-law, Clary and Sadie Wilson; sister Carol Wolfe; and sister-in-law Gail Stevenson. Elmer spent five years in Victoria while enrolled with the Navy. He moved back to Winnipeg and started his career with the CP investigation department. He retired after 30 years as a plain clothes investigator. Elmer spent his retirement travelling with his wife Barbara and spending his days with his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of your choice. A celebration of Elmer's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street.
