Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNA LUISE WEISE (nee FRANKE) August 5, 1937 - August 18, 2017 Erna (Omi) peacefully passed away with her family by her side. Erna will be lovingly remembered by her husband Heinz Weise, sister Johanna Makowe (Herb), daughters, Edith Kaminski (Mike) and Heidi Phillips (Wilson), her sons, Gerhard Weise and Edwin Weise, as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. Erna came to Canada from Germany for a new life where she met and married Heinz and they started a new life together. Erna worked hard with Heinz to make a home for their family, never complaining and always ready to have fun. Erna loved and was loved by everyone. She enjoyed cooking and baking and creating wonderful memories during many barbecues, special events and family get-togethers. The sun shone a little brighter and the rain fell a little softer with Erna around. The world is less without her. Services will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street, Tuesday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice.

Yes, I remember visiting the Weise home and Erna was always a very welcoming hostess. She was always smiling and showing a lot of interest in my sister and me (we were young children). Erna was a bubbly person and my parents got along well with Erna and Heinz. I'm sad that you have lost your mother and wish you strength for the coming time.
