PATRICK CHARTRAND March 17, 1941 - August 23, 2017 With the utmost sorrow we announce the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to his battle with cancer. Left to mourn are his wife and best friend of 48 years, Diane, children Dean (Michele), Shelly (Alan) and Hollis (Jared), grandchildren Larissa (Boss) and Paxton, foster grandchildren Kashas, Navaeh and Isaiah, sisters-in-law Gracia, Lorraine, Louise, Helen, Laverne and Doreen, and brothers-in-law Alfred, Alex and Walter. Predeceased by parents Ovila and Marcelline, six brothers and three sisters. At Dad's request cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Thanks to all the nurses, physicians and staff in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface for caring for Pat and his family during this difficult experience. Also a special mention to Ann for her gentleness during his home care experiences. To all of those who knew him, please remember him with a smile and have a drink of brandy for him. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be. So He wrapped His arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me". You didn't deserve what you went through, so He gave you needed rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.
