RHODA ISABEL RUSK February 4, 1935 - August 29, 2017 Rhoda passed away peacefully in hospital on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. She leaves to mourn her daughter April (Tom) Fleishmann, son Ron (Shiho) and her four much loved grandchildren, Kyle, Barry, Dylan and Jasmine. She is also survived by her brother Bill Rusk, sisters, Evelyn Clark, Margaret Goodman (Moe), Pearl Williams, Doris Bronstein (Mick) and many nieces and nephews. Rhoda was predeceased by her parents, Elgin and Annie (Down) Rusk, brothers, Norman, Donald and John, sister Patricia Leatherdale, also in-laws, Barbara Rusk, Doris Rusk, Solange Rusk, Gordon Clark, Bob Williams, and Lionel Deroche. As per Rhoda's wishes, no formal service will be held. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life and burial of ashes will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice if wished. The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at 4N Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care. Thanks also to the staff at the Boulton Residence, Charleswood Day Club, home care and especially her many longtime friends. From all of her family - we will always love and miss you - you were one feisty lady.

  • Mum, you are my Hero. I love you so much, and I think about you with a great longing to have been a better son for you. Mum, you have taught me in life and after life, how to become a better man. This I feel deep in my heart, as I reflect on how you have shown me by example, a better way of being. Thank you Mum for all your sacrifices, and guidance through out our time on earth together. Mum, you have given so much to so many people, and I know how much they all love you, And you have always kept your heart open for us all, without judgment or resentment. You lived your life on your terms, and I am so proud of you Mum. Neither diseases nor hardships stood in your way. Your sheer will to live and love life to the fullest, is my original source of inspiration. You always stood back up and laughter was your reply. You are the strongest, most loving and caring Mother I could ever be blessed with. I am so proud of you Mum. I will honor you and share your guidance and wisdom with my children, your Grandchildren, that you so dearly love, and we all so dearly Love You. Your Grandchildren miss you, as do I and Shiho.
