Date of Passing: Aug 25, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA MARGOLIS (nee ROZOVSKY) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on August 25, 2017 in Victoria, BC. She died peacefully at the age of 97. She will be greatly missed by her children: Zelda and Tom Lie, Rebecca and Rob Richardson and Murray Margolis and Ami Trefler, and by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Laika and Jason Heflin (Kajson and Kody), Jake Richardson, Seth Richardson, and Jennifer and Tanner Strangway (Nixon and Adelaide). Mom will be remembered by her sister-in-law Betty Rozovsky, brothers-in-law Fred Blankstein and Phil Barnes, and by a large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews, and especially her beloved cousin Izzy Davis. She was laid to rest in Winnipeg on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 next to our dad who predeceased her in 1993. Mom was a strong, independent woman who met challenges head-on. She lived life to the fullest! Our family extends heartfelt thanks to Cantor Tracy Kasner Greaves for her guidance and leadership and to so many friends and relatives for their support and compassion. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to The Saint John Jewish Historical Museum, 91 Leinster St., Saint John, NB E2L 1J2 or online: www.canadahelps.org/dn/12227 or to a charity of your choice.

I will always have the fondest of memories of my auntie Eva. She was kind, observant, and wise, and could see the positive in almost everything. Auntie Eva had hilarious commentary, without trying to be funny. As she aged, her filter relaxed, and she would offer uninhibited opinions about people--including members of our family--that were absolutely priceless. She was resilient and feisty in a way that was both gentle and comforting. She coped with a lot of adversity, and often said, "Don't ever get old. It's the worst thing." She was also thoughtful and caring, and asked about everyone, especially since leaving Winnipeg for Victoria. I still have distinct memories of the way her house smelled (like cinnamon buns), and how I always looked forward to visiting my cousins there. I'm so grateful that I was able to have a wonderful visit with her, 2 weeks before her passing. She was as sharp as ever. To Zelda and Tom, Rebecca and Rob, Murray and Ami, and all of Eva's family-- may her memory be a blessing. Cousin Enid. - Posted by: Enid Barnes (niece) on: Sep 02, 2017
