Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE ISABELLE CAVENAGH (nee MORRISON) February 20, 1925 - August 28, 2017 Our Mom, Grandma, Great-grandma, matriarch and friend passed away early Monday morning, August 28, 2017. Mom peacefully took her last breath here and her next in the glorious presence of her Saviour. Mom was born in Winnipeg, February 20, 1925. She was the eldest of four girls raised in a home of strong faith. She accepted Jesus as her Saviour as a young girl. She married Paul Cavenagh in 1946. They were married for 50 years before Dad passed away in September of 1997. They had six children: Ronald (Rose); Linda (Garry); Sheila (Brian); Patrick (Marianne); Cynthia (Byron); and Shauna (Leonard). She has 19 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. After 85 years in the Winnipeg area, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of living somewhere other than her birthplace. Mom spent seven great years closer to her girls in BC before moving back to Winnipeg this spring. Mom excelled as a student, as a stenographer, and later as a provincial 4H aide. She had a thirst for knowledge and took various courses from carpentry to computers even some university courses. Mom and Dad travelled together, but her adventurous spirit took wings following his death and she and her dear friends took many trips together around the globe. Never one to shy away from fun, she parasailed, white water rafted, enjoyed motorcycle rides, and at 89 she ziplined. This past winter she was snowmobiling with her grandkids! Mom loved the Lord and His word. She read through the Bible each year for decades. She instilled that love in her own family as well as others as she led neighbourhood Bible studies. We will miss her and our times together but she has left us a legacy of faith, love, and memories that we cherish. A private family burial service will take place in the Rockwood Cemetery, Stonewall, MB. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the Charleswood Community Church, 760 Charleswood Road, Winnipeg, MB. If friends so desire, memorial donations to Faith Bible Camp, PO Box 42059, RPO Ferry Road, Winnipeg, MB or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 would be appreciated.
