Born: Aug 31, 1973
Date of Passing: Aug 31, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILLY) MCINTYRE August 31, 1973 - August 31, 2017 Peacefully, with his family by his side, Billy passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on August 31 at the age of 44 years. He was predeceased by his father Donald McIntyre, his stepfather Douglas Burzuik, cousin Jamie Pajak, and father-in-law Gord Robertson. Left to cherish is memory are his wife Sue and daughter Sarah, along with his mother Judith, mother-in-law Gillian Robertson, brother Don (Rachel) and their children Meghan (Braden) and Jessica, sister Kathryn (Todd Buss) and their daughter Cassandra, aunt Susan Pajak (Brian) and their sons Derek (Sharon) and Adam. Billy is also survived by his sister-in-law Dawn Robertson (Jason) and their children Michelle (Cam), Ainsley, Aaron and Porter, as well as sister-in-law Leanne Marrese (Darren) and their children Kelsey (Cam) and Elizabeth. Billy was born in Selkirk, Manitoba on August 31, 1973, to Donald and Judith McIntyre. The friends he made while growing up in and around Selkirk were life-long and even though life had taken them on different paths, they always remained in contact. In 2010, Billy had finished all the necessary requirements to become a Juvenile Councillor with the Province of Manitoba and began working at the Manitoba Youth Centre. Prior to this, he worked for River City Performance and Motion Performance, respectively, which afforded him the opportunity to fuel his love for cars and drag racing. Billy was very proud of the work he and his car buddies had put into his 1967 Chevelle SS. He was so proud of all of the achievements he made in the local world of drag racing and loved his drag racing family fiercely. Billy enjoyed music, movies, reading and target shooting with his sister. He loved his San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers, UFC, and NASCAR. He could be seen watching these with his trusty couch buddy, Isabella, his Miniature Schnauzer. Warhammer 40K was another of Billy's pastimes. From assembling to painting to playing - it was a passion. It wasn't unusual for his basement to be full with his brother and friends playing their "little man game" (as Sue called it). But nothing made him more proud than his daughter, Sarah, or as he called her "Bugsy". Billy always tried his hardest to be there front and centre for anything Sarah was a part of - from school performances to her dog shows with "Jackson", her Shetland Sheepdog. A celebration of Billy's life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the staff at both St. Boniface General Hospital ICMS and Health Sciences Centre SICU for their kindness and compassionate care these last few months. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation or Health Sciences Centre Foundation. Now it's time to say goodbye Goodbye my love through misty eyes And oh until we meet again Farewell my lovely friend. I knew Billy from the World of Wheels for many years and then through Motion Performance but we were never close and talked about cars almost exclusively as we both were very passionate about them. Then one day out of know where I recieved a call from him, Finding it odd he would be calling me when I had not ordered anything and it wasnt car show time. He told me I should probably sit down because he had something to tell me.... Turned out he is my Uncle. Both of us had no idea of the relationship and spent the next couple hrs BS'ing about alot more than just cars. Unfortunately I never took the opportunity to get to know him better. I offer my condolences to his family. - Posted by: Scott Lechman (Nephew) on: Sep 13, 2017

Our hearts are breaking for Susan and Sarah over the loss of their husband and father. Billy fought so hard for almost 6 months until his body couldn't hang on any longer. He was a great husband and father and Sarah was the light of his life. He was a well liked, kind hearted person; an avid reader who liked discussing world issues and politics and he loved participating in and watching the drag races and he was especially proud of his 1967 Chevelle SS. Family was most important to him and his life revolved around Susan and Sarah. He also loved spending time with his dogs and the cat and he was so proud when he watched Sarah participating in the dog shows. Our condolences to Susan and Sarah and the rest of his family. RIP Billy. You definitely will be missed. - Posted by: Colleen Davies/Mickey LaBrie (Friends) on: Sep 06, 2017

Sean and I got to meet and know Bill when he worked at Motion and also at the drag strip. Always friendly and would go the extra mile to help yout in any way. Remember the day he said they bought a house and that his beautiful car wouldn't be at the track anymore. He was immediately missed. As noted in other condolences we were lucky to have meet him and today meeting a person like Bill is rare and a blessing. My sincere condolences to his immediate family and all of the many friends who will miss him - Posted by: Red Hutmacher (Friend) on: Sep 06, 2017

Billy and I started our friendship together this time of year many, many years ago. Him and I were in Ms. Aldinger's kindergarten class, grade 1 and so on. I still have our original class photos and you can still see his big smile. I will always remember how he was able to sit with his legs tucked at his sides, like his knees were double-jointed. We all tried to sit like that but he would laugh that he was the only one that could do it. As time went on we would run into the paths of one another at car meets, parking lots, drag shops etc. and eventually at the drag strip, him with his Chevy and me with my Charger. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family at this difficult time. RIP 'Goat'. (thats the name he MADE US call him in junior high! Thoughts today go out to Billy's family and friends. People like Billy are hard to find in today's world. Open, honest, caring and always there for those he cared about. A true gentleman in every sense of the word. God's speed Billy, rest well my friend. You may be gone but will never be forgotten, thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for me, for being my mentor, my teacher, my sounding board, my friend. Billy and I raced many times for the win back in my street car days. Toughest competitor in the class and always there to help if someone needed him. I never won against him. He was my reason for trying harder every race. I'll never forget the great times. Rest in peace Billy. My sincerest condolences. - Posted by: Jeff Wiebe (Drag racing buddy) on: Sep 06, 2017
