DARRYL GORDON WILLIE In the early morning hours of September 10, 2017, Darryl Gordon Willie passed away at Riverview Health Centre. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Enns, daughter, Joy (Gary) Scheurmann, son Rob, grandsons Kyle and Trevor Scheurmann, and sister Drinda (Cal Murray) Wood. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian in 2002. Darryl was born to Frank and Marion (Gordon) Willie on October 1, 1940. As a young man he was employed by Manitoba Hydro and enjoyed a 38 year career making many lasting friends along the way. He and Lillian married in 1961 and began a life together raising their family. With the birth of grandsons Kyle and Trevor, Darryl became a proud grandfather and he continued to be the best role model any grandkid could have. His involvement in his family's life was truly a blessing. After retirement, Darryl immersed himself in volunteering with the Manitoba Electrical Museum and Education Centre, devoting long hours to making it the best he could. At the same time, Darryl also devoted a lot of time to managing the Junior Wesmen. In 2011, Darryl married Bobbie and began another chapter. Together they enjoyed life, travelling and finally settling in their winter home in Texas. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Darryl was a customer of mine from 1994-1997. I sold cell phones to Manitoba Hydro and Darryl was a loyal but tough customer to work with. He and I had many chats about life and I considered Darryl a friend and somewhat of a mentor at the time. I only knew him for a short 3 years but we talked almost daily as the need for cell phones at MH was really ramping up in the late 90's. I think about him him often and was saddened to find him here but I smile when I think of all the good chats we had. RIP Darryl. - Posted by: Jeff Penner (Customer) on: Jun 07, 2021

  • Darryl you mentored me when I started at Manitoba Hydro R&M Dept. Because of your leadership I had a career @ MH an I am forever grateful to you for your help. To this day Betty (my girlfriend at the time) still talks about how you made a detour in our car pool route to work to pick her up at home and take her to her workplace during the blizzard of 1966. Sorry to hear of your passing. Condolences to your family. Bob & Betty Gunning - Posted by: Bob & Betty Gunning (Co-worker at Manitoba Hydro) on: Sep 24, 2017
