ANNA MARIE ROSE LABELLE - BARTMANOVICH Anna passed away peacefully, at the Heritage Life Personal Care Home, at the age of 73 on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Anna was always someone who nurtured others as her own. She was a born leader and a true caregiver. She will always be remembered as a strong and kind woman who would always put the needs of others ahead of her own. On April 3, 2004 Anna married her true love - Michael Bartmanovich. They lived on the farm in Glenlea, MB, where she pursued her lifelong passion for gardening and enjoyed maintaining the household and yard. Together they spent many days and nights watching deer, fishing for pickerel, and enjoying the fresh air at their cottage in Buffalo Point, MB, which quickly became the family cottage. Anna always cherished her time spent there with Michael, her family, and friends. Anna had a remarkable and successful career in education. Over the course of her career, she enjoyed being a teacher, a principal, and a university lecturer. She empowered many to achieve greatness in their lives. Although her career kept her busy, Anna also spent many summers in Carman, MB, with her brother Francois, running the Labelle Berry Farm. Anna became the mother hen of the Labelle family, caring for her siblings, and for anyone in need of help in life. Anna never had children of her own, but in her heart, she truly believed that her nephews Daniel and Jereme, and her nieces Tiffany and Nicole, were kids of her own. She watched over them and was always very proud of their accomplishments. To us she will always be our second mother, and we will be forever grateful for her love and guidance. Anna took every opportunity to brag about her family - especially her two little angels, her grandchildren Connor and Olivia. Anna leaves her husband Michael Bartmanovich; stepdaughter Michelle (Rick) Wood; grandchildren Connor and Olivia; stepson Ryan (Mona) Bartmanovich; sister Marie (Peter) Eickenberg; brothers Maurice (Diane) and Francois (Janice); nephews Daniel (Candace) and Jereme Labelle, and Douglas Bartmanovich; nieces Tiffany Eickenberg, Nicole (Rob) Presley, Kristine (Rob) MacDonald and Christina Johnson; brother-in-law Ron (Susan); sisters-in-law Verna (Ken) and Joyce; numerous Labelles and Bartmanovichs, and many friends. Anna was predeceased by her parents Denis and Aline Labelle, her brother Paul, and her dear friend Mary Brown. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 15, 2017, with the viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m., at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr., Winnipeg, MB; Father Kevin Bettens celebrant. Donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Hello Michael; I offer to you my most sincere condolences on the loss of your precious Anna. I live in Mississauga, Ontario now...for the past 40 years. I hope you remember me from our times in St. Norbert,... at the Queen Elizabeth School in Howden, back in the mid 1950's. Our families have known each other for many, many years. I've known Anna since she was about 8 years old. Her family were neighbours of ours to the north side when we lived on Red River Drive. May she rest in peace. Take care, Michael.
