Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH KLASSEN February 3, 1926 - September 9, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Klassen, at the age of 91, at the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home. Left to cherish her memories are son Dennis (daughter Yarianny), daughter Deborah (Ryan, Shannon, Devin, Eva), sister Margaret, brothers Hank (Helen) and Dave (Mary), daughter-in-law Marion (Valerie, Jesse, Joseph, Alyssa, Amanda, Cynthia, Jurgen, Deveren), and sister-in-law Mary Knight, Mary and Peggy. She will also be missed by numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. Besides immediate family she will be dearly missed by Yanitsy, Arleiky, Yamira, Christian, Matthew and Marguerite. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Jake (2000), sisters Ida and Lena, brother Jacob, and son Jim (2016). She was born in Morden and raised on a farm just outside of town. After marrying Jake they lived in Winkler for a while before they moved to Winnipeg for employment opportunities. She worked at various jobs including: maid, cook and janitor before she got a job at Concordia Hospital. She was employed at Concordia as an X-ray assistant for over 25 years before retiring in 1986. She enjoyed many summers with the family at the cottage in Matlock. Her hobbies included knitting and collecting dolls. She also loved to shop and play cards. Her favourite pastime was watching T.V. and her two favourite shows were Murder She Wrote and Three's Company. Her favourite activity was going to Salisbury House and she formed friendships at Sals with many staff and customers. She lived a healthy and happy life but that was disrupted by breaking her hip. While recovering in hospital she lost her will to live and she passed away two short months after her accident. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mohammed, her homecare workers, and staff at Concordia Hospital and Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home for their compassionate care. She has already been cremated. A memorial service will be held at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street in Transcona on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. You have no idea how much you are already missed. Love you.
