ALMA FRANCES MARION SPEARS Alma Spears passed away suddenly on September 2, 2017 in Winnipeg, MB. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Brookside Cemetery. Please meet the family at the Memorial Gardens D2 East and West 1-96 near the front gates. A short service will be held at the graveside at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon at the Canad Inns Polo Park. Alma was born in Winnipeg on April 7, 1933 to Francis Garfield Spears and Alma Ferguson Yandt. She leaves to mourn her passing, sons Douglas (Carol) of Rosser and Donald (Elaine) Bucknell of Winnipeg, daughters Frances (George) Laing of Mesa, Arizona and Sandra Lord (Mark Colwell) of Edmonton, son William and daughter Sherry Korolyk also of Winnipeg; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her sister Betty Wilson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Fran was preceded by her father Francis, mother Alma, brothers Francis Spears, sisters Jean Jones and June Beaudry, son Robert Korolyk, and grandson Justin Laing. Fran looked forward to her yearly trips to Vegas with her sister Betty. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. A special thanks to her dear friends Vera, Abbot and Diane who always looked out for her and helped her. Arrangements are entrusted to her son Doug, 204-461-1875.
