Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUNE FRANCES PEGGY BROWN (nee TAYLOR) May 22, 1929 - September 7, 2017 June passed away, quietly at Oakview Place Extendicare, September 7, 2017. She had a stroke in 2014 and became bedridden for three and a half years. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Wallace. She is survived by her sons Garth (Helen) and Glenn (Julie); grandchildren Curtis, Jennifer, James, Stephanie and Erinn, and great-grandson Blake. June was born in Toronto, ON. She worked at Imperial Oil, then met her husband Wallace. She worked at Sears and they had two boys, Garth and Glenn. They then moved to Winnipeg in 1973. June worked again at Sears, a total of 25 years, and retired in 1990. Cat whiskers seemed to always make their way into June's life, from Tippy, Cinnamon, Jinx and Mr. Parker. Cat hair was an everyday accessory for June, as no outfit was complete without cat hair. June loved her cats. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Reception to follow. The family would like to express their appreciation to the many healthcare professionals at the Oakview Place Extendicare, who contributed to June's care and comfort over the past three and a half years. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
