Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND CLAUDE MORRISSETTE June 11, 1944 - September 7, 2017 We are saddened by the loss of the man, the myth, the legend, "Big Ray", but also, relieved that his suffering is over. He was predeceased by his loving wife Noella (nee Letourneau), in December 2014, his parents, Albert and Annette Morrissette and his brother-in-law Danny Morrissette. Ray is survived by his three sons, Claude (Theresa), Richard and Marc; his grandchildren, Cierra (Leenie), Ryan and Jay; as well as his siblings, Leon (Eleanor), Elaine (Michel), Aurele (Margaret), Diane and Normand (Mavis); and his in-laws, Leo (Lorraine), Diane (Chuck) and Bert (Colette). Soon after high school, he worked for Manitoba Hydro, then moved to British Columbia and worked for Comstock Construction and B.C. Hydro, then started his own electrical construction business in Maple Ridge until his retirement. An unfillable hole has been left not only in his family but in the community as well. Ray was a "larger than life" man who, spent countless hours raising money for charities. As a member of The Lions' Club, he received numerous awards for his ability to fundraise and his dedication to building houses for the needy. He was well known in Maple Ridge for his weekly meat draws for charity. Ray had a distinctively deep and infectious laugh and was a gifted storyteller. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the doctors and nurses at ICU in the Abbotsford Hospital for the great care and compassion shown to our father. If friends so desire, donations in Ray's memory could be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada for his grandson.

I worked on many jobs with Ray in Bc and California. We roomed together for a spell in the Saulte Aire Motel in Santa cruz years ago while working the Bay Area for PG & E with Commonwealth Electrick. Sometimes we both had sore elbows after the socializing but we were always ready for work. We were the same age and he would ride me because mine came on April 2, just missing April Fools. Great Guy, lots of fun and hard worker. His big laugh was “ hee hee hee. My thoughts and best wishes to his family. Bob Gosse - Posted by: Bob Gosse (Friend) on: Feb 15, 2018

Ray truly was a "larger than life" guy! We worked together at MB Hydro in Steinbach, MB. Small staff lunches out with Ray we're always fun. "Make mine a double order, please" he used to say. Lunches at the office usually meant a round of cribbage, which he had the patience to teach me. Great guy! My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Dorothy Braun (Former co-worker) on: Sep 16, 2017
