SHARON BUTLER Sadly, Sharon Butler passed away in Penticton, BC Hospital, on September 7, 2017, following Emergency surgery for a fractured hip due to a fall. She had been struggling with the advanced stages of Parkinson's Plus disease for more than five years. Sharon was born in Trail, BC in 1946 and moved to Kimberley, BC at a young age with her family. She has lived in Prince George, Vancouver and Victoria before relocating to Winnipeg in 1993 with her husband Don White, where she made many new friends. She spent many years working in the trucking industry as a manager/supervisor and she loved her work. She was predeceased by her father Lloyd Doan and her mother Christabel Doan, of Kimberly and her brothers, Lloyd, Gary and Marvin. Sharon is survived by her daughter Tamara (Steven) Almas and grandchildren, Liam and Carys, in Summerland and daughter Lynn Jordan, in Victoria, brother Darrell (Terri) Doan, of Cranbrook, sister Marlene (Gordon) Clarke, of Prince George, Aunt Joan (John) Best, of Victoria and Aunt Donna Greenwood, of Summerland, BC. Also, the four sons and families of Don White, who all live in Winnipeg, Doug (Lisa) White, Donnie (Janelle) White, David (Nicky) White, Dennis (Jennifer) White and nine grandchildren. Sharon was a very proud lady who was generous and kind and who made new friends easily. She enjoyed spending her time shopping, cooking and gardening. She volunteered her time to assist senior ladies living alone. We would like to thank Dr. David Breckman and Dr. Andrew Borys. A special thank you to Don's sister Doreen Docking who provided considerable support over many years and to Sharon's home care workers, Elizabeth, Lucila, Ailyn and Andrea for their companionship and to her neighbour friend Pamela Mulrooney. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her as she touched many lives. A private family service will be held at a later date in Kimberley, BC. Those wishing to make a donation can consider the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba.
