Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONIO ERNESTO GUEDES May 5, 1950 - September 16, 2017 It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Antonio Ernesto Guedes on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 67 years. Antonio was predeceased by his father Antonio Guedes and his mother Maria DoCarmo Cordeiro; brother Antonio Joaquim Guedes. He is survived by his stepmother Louisa Guedes; sister Fatima and her four children, 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his late brother Antonio Joaquin's (Maria Jose) their five children, 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother Mario Jorge (Lucia) and their three children; sister Ligia (Smith) their three children and seven grandchildren; brother Ricardo (Isabel) and their three children; sister Ana, her four children and six grandchildren. Antonio was born May 5, 1950 in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores. He came to Canada in the 1970s, where his brother and his family later joined him. Antonio had the biggest heart and was the most generous man you could know. We were blessed to have known him and he will be missed dearly. There is no doubt that he will be cheering on his favorite soccer team, Benfica, from Heaven. The family thanks the Palliative Care Program, Riverview Health Centre for their compassionate care of our brother and uncle during his final weeks with us. Prayers will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 8:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 27 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street North at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery.

Miss him alot. When I was gone out of town this summer i prayed every night for Tony. I had alot of respect for him because he treated my girls Shontay and Shaileen very good. May Tony RIP . I miss you tio nash, with all my heart. Shaileen seen your number phoning my house yesterday and she grabbed the phone fast and answered it " hola" then her smile dropped. She realized it wasn't you.
