LAUREEN LUCILLE CHRISTENSEN Peacefully, on Friday, September 15, 2017, Laureen passed away at the age of 88 years. Laureen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Wayne (Arlene), Vivian (Dennis) and Randi; grandchildren, Laura (Greg), Melissa (Ryan), Ryan (Raelene) and Jordan, as well as great-granddaughter, Casey. She was predeceased by her husband Carl. On April 10, 1929, Laureen was born in Coalhurst, Alberta and lived there until she was 12. She had many happy memories of small town life and of living on the farm. Laureen moved to Vancouver where, at the age of 16, she met Carl, the love of her life. They were married in May 1951 and lived in Vancouver and Windsor, finally settling in Winnipeg in 1965. Laureen loved to knit, play bridge, do the daily crossword and volunteer. She was active in Shriners Ladies' Auxiliary, Daughters of the Nile and New Plus Two. She loved her Bridge and Euchre groups and her Friday morning coffee friends. Laureen made wonderful Sunday dinners for the family and she made the best apple and lemon meringue pies. She enjoyed her times at the cottage and was a terrific hostess for anyone who dropped by. A private family memorial will be held. Many thanks to the staff at Lion's Supportive Housing for their care and support over the last two years.
