Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS PAULICELLI (nee TWERDOCHLIB) March 20, 1932 - September 8, 2017 It is with sadness and heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Phyllis Paulicelli on Friday, September 8, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Paulicelli, her parents Adam and Adela Twerdochlib, and brothers Allan and Walter. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Phillip (Linda), Dean (Kim) and Michael (Leanne), her daughter Leanne (Kevin); also grandchildren Chad, Erik (Hayley), Shayna (Mark), Jessie, Noah and Lauryn; brother Ron (Ruth) Twerdochlib; sister-in-law May Paulicelli, as well as nieces and nephews, and faithful dog Sadie. Mom was born on the first day of spring March 20, 1932. She attended Central School in Transcona where she was offered a placement in art school which she declined, as she needed to get a job to help her family. Instead she went to Steno community college to become a stenographer. Other occupations included working at a law firm, and Winnipeg Supply. She also worked for the town of Transcona as a steno switchboard relief operator, and as a voting enumerator clerk-deputy returning officer. After Transcona amalgamated with the City of Winnipeg she quit work to be a stay-at-home mom and raise her four children. Mom had a big heart, and helped many in their time of need, providing food, shelter, and guidance in difficult times. Mom was always there to tell stories of yesteryear, or give excellent advice or a warm hug and kiss. Family was the most important thing in Mom's life, and was happiest when all of her family was together. She always put her family first. Mom made the best perogies and holopchi, along with many other Polish and Ukrainian dishes. After her husband Joe's passing she carried on traditional Sunday spaghetti dinners with the help of her daughter Leanne. She loved to spend summers at the cottage in Grand Marais where she picked blueberries, and loved to read in her favourite chair in the backyard, and visit with anyone who would stop by. We were very blessed to have her in our lives and will miss her dearly. God Bless you Mom xo... A private family service has taken place. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. She was a wonderful lady. She would light up a little when my visit with her came. May she finally find peace and comfort whereever she may be. My condolences to the family at this time. - Posted by: Audra Rosentreter (Homecare Worker.) on: Sep 22, 2017

My grandparents were Lena and Paul Nykoluk. The Paulicelli and Twerdochlib families were always spoke of fondly. Many stories shared, and I'm quite sure as a child I spent time with your beloved Mother/Grandmother. Sorry for your loss. Thinking of you at this time.
