Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN KOHUT It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother, Jean Kohut (Krochenski) on September 22, 2017, with family at her side. Jean passed on into the arms of the Lord. Jean was born on June 15, 1940 to Frank and Barbara (Oberton) Krochenski in Kreuzberg, MB, now known as Frazerwood. Jean was the youngest of seven children, Ben (Bertha), Mike (Margaret), Lou (Sophie), Leon (Ann), Rose (Harry) Kushnir and Mildred (Stanley) Wasylowski. Jean married her husband Walter Kohut on August 30, 1958 in Rosa, MB. They resided in Sarto, MB and later moved to Transcona where they lived to present. Walter and Jean have two children Baby Kohut (stillborn) July 17, 1960 and son Blaine (Tanya) Kohut. Jean loved spending time with her three grandchildren, Caitlyne, Chelsea and Timothy Kohut. There was always a smile to be seen and an "I love you" to be heard from Baba. Jean was employed for many years at West Mar Vending Company. She also was involved in the church with the Women's League, teaching Catechism and day care. Jean loved to travel and enjoyed gardening and her flowers. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre Step Down Unit and SICU. Your tenderness, compassion and care for Jean was appreciated through this tough time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the St. Francis Cemetery, care of Box 116, Frazerwood, MB R0C 1A0. My heartfelt condolences to your family. Mrs. Kohut was a kind and loving woman. Mom and her could talk for hours. I laugh at all the times my cover was blown, trying to hide a bad mark or an unfinished assignment only for my mom to find out because Blaine was obviously a lot more honest about school with his mom!!!!
