WILLIAM (BILL) WALTHAM William (Bill) Waltham, born March 20, 1933 in Hull, England, ended his journey in life on September 7, 2017 after a long battle with declining health. He was predeceased by his wife Irene in 2015. He is survived by his four children: Gail (David), Heather, Richard and Kevin; his grandchildren: Lee, Chelsea, Michael, Jessica, Ethan and Faith; his great-grandchildren: Tristan, Cianna and Scarlet; numerous nieces and nephews, and Tracie who was like a daughter to Bill and will always be part of the family. Bill grew up in Hull and came to Canada in 1955 following his discharge from the army. He married and raised a family living mostly in Winnipeg; he took his family to live in Hull in 1966 and again in 1976, always returning to Winnipeg. He was employed by the University of Manitoba for many years. Bill was an honest, hardworking man who was extremely dedicated to family. Family was everything to him and he loved unconditionally. Bill touched many lives over his lifetime at work, his friends, but most importantly in his family. He was a man of principles and morals and treated everyone with respect and courtesy. He was polite, well-mannered and a gentleman in every sense of the word, and was also known to love a good laugh. During his last days, he still found ways to joke with his loved ones. His smile lit up a room which will always be remembered and missed. During the last years of his life he resided at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home where he was cared for by people who lovingly looked after him and made him feel special. His family would like to thank all of Dad's caregivers for their genuine care, dedication and patience. There will be no service but a private gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place, and he is home with his family. If family or friends so desire, donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
