LILY FORREST (KASDORF) Always Loved, Deeply Missed, Never Forgotten. Lily Darlene Forrest (Kasdorf) spent her last hours peacefully with her son Stephen, daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Kevin, and daughter-in-law Emily. She was also comforted by her three stuffed animals, who were always by her side: bunny, monkey, and alien dog. Stephen will always remember how she made the best school lunches, stood in line for hours to get him concert tickets, bought him a duck decoy for Christmas every year, the way she loved all animals, and her homemade soup that always kept him going. And Jennifer will never forget her cheerful spirit, her chocolate chip oatmeal muffins, how she said good-bye to the house like it was a real person, and the fact that she was her best friend. Lily's strength and courage are a true example of how the human spirit can survive against adversity. After a severe stroke four years ago, despite all odds, Lily went on to gain back some of her mobility, speech and independence. She was given an additional four years of memories, experiences, and love. Her favourite activities were picking out a new ring at Walmart, going out for fried chicken or ribs on Sunday night, and sitting peacefully in the garden watching the squirrels. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and care providers. Lily is now at peace with her father Isaac Kasdorf and mother Alice Kasdorf (Gerbrandt). She is survived by her brother Walter Kasdorf and former husband Ian Forrest. A celebration to honour Lily's amazing life will take place on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Creek 1 Retirement Residence, 10 Hallonquist Drive, on the 4th floor in the Chapel. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

  • Sorry to hear of Lily's passing. We had lovely childhood memories! I hope she was not terrorized too much by babysitting my brother & me! Our parents always found her so pleasant, and enjoyed her as a neighbour & visitor next door. I offer sweet condolences to her family & loved-ones. - Posted by: Roberta Bailey (former next-door neighbour/a child she babysat!) on: Dec 23, 2017
