VIRGINIA OLGA KENNEY (nee LABAY) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Kenney, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Monday, October 2, 2017. Virginia leaves to mourn her son Bruce and wife Penny; daughter Wendy and life partner Grant; three grandsons, Stephen, John and William (Billy-Joe) and wife Savannah; two granddaughters Shylo and Hailey; three great-grandsons, Austyn, Baylon and Brody; her gals of the '36 club, and special friend Taja. She was predeceased by her father Stephen Labay; mother Martha Labay; her husband Joseph; and sister Marie Metelski. On November 6, 1936 Virginia was born in Menzie, Manitoba. She celebrated and embraced life every day. She loved to travel and never missed an opportunity for a cross country motorcycle trip with her husband or a flight to a part of the world that was intriguing to her. Anyone who knew Virginia, knew her to be energetic, spontaneous, understanding, loving, 'tech savvy', and mostly spiritual. She equally committed her time to her faith and was an active member of the CWL at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Boulevard, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault P.H. presiding. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish, may make a donation in the memory of Virginia to the Canadian Cancer Society of Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Expressions of sympathy may be made at Wojcik's Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
