Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGREGORY WALTER PAUL MCLACHLAN April 14, 1953 - July 24, 2017 Sadly Greg, our beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, friend, mentor and teacher, passed away soon after being diagnosed with cancer. Predeceased by his father Walter Stanley McLachlan on December 24, 2002, he leaves his mother Sonia McLachlan; wife Tammy Vogel; children Amy (Mark) Graceffo and Ashley (Phil) Zytnyk; stepchildren Kandyce and Craig Vogel; siblings Wendy (Lenn) Samborski, Karen (Mark) Maryniuk, and Glenn McLachlan; grandchildren Zade, Harlow, Lennix and Beck Zytnyk and Willa and Lucca Graceffo; nieces and nephews Paul and Laura Samborski, Megan (Matt) Pastetnik, Kayla McLachlan, Justine Barry, Jordan and Madison Smith; great-nephew and nieces Dayton Wilson, Myleigh and Macey Pastetnik. Greg's interests were drumming, aquariums (breeding tropical and salt water fish), kung fu, inventing, electronics, rebuilding his corvettes, renovating and fixing, and fishing. He loved his family and was proud of the beautiful and successful women his daughters had become, and the grandchildren they provided him. He was especially attached to Zade, his first-born grandson with whom he had a special bond. Greg took comfort during the last weeks in his Christian faith knowing he would be united with his beloved Fathers in Heaven upon his passing. Greg had a brilliant mind and earned his Professional Engineering degree in Electronics at the University of Manitoba as a mature student. He was an Instructor in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Red River College for 35 years, until his passing. He passionately taught and cared deeply for his students. His wish was to help them become successful and productive and he guided them to strive to be their very best and he did this with fun and humour. Because of this, in memory of Greg, family and friends have established an annual award for a deserving student in their final term of studies in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Donations may be made to the Greg McLachlan Memorial Award c/o Red River College. A reception is being held on October 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Prairie Lights at Red River College, 2055 Notre Dame Avenue. Friends, family, students and faculty are welcome to attend and share in food, refreshments and memories. Greg will be lovingly remembered and missed for his genius mind, quick wit and ability to make people laugh.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Greg was too young to die. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is to lose a sibling. Please accept my deepest heartfelt sympathies. - Posted by: Dianne Kennedy (friend) on: Oct 07, 2017
