ROBERT JAMES BURNS Quietly on September 26, 2017, Robert James Burns slipped away to dance with his beloved wife Elsie again. Predeceased by his parents, John and Winnifred Burns; wife Elsie (nee Skalany); brothers, John and Sam, and sisters, Kate, Irene and June. A gentle man, Bob was a good neighbour, a better friend and the best husband, father, and grandfather. He loved unconditionally, showed patience and praised effort. Bob retired from Hudson Bay Company Northern Stores, where he had opportunity to travel Canada. He shared many stories of this time, especially his northern adventures. Upon retirement, he had time to pursue his many hobbies and talents and he and Elsie doted on their "girls". Bob is survived by daughter Ellen (Brian) and granddaughters, Jacqueline, Shannon and Danielle. He was a big part of their lives and will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place and as per his wishes, there will be no service of remembrance. Instead, take a walk in your neighbourhood, revel in the beauty of nature and find a sign that tells you he is walking with you. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Children's Hospital Foundation. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

  • I had the pleasure of being Mr. Burns dentist for 12 years. Every one of his visits to the office was filled with laughter and too many jokes to count. Everyone here looked forward to his spring and fall visits and we will all truly miss the joy and smiles he brought to everyone when he walked in the door. A great man and a great person and I'm truly fortunate to have known him. - Posted by: Supinder Lotay (Dentist) on: Oct 10, 2017
