Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEE FACHE Shirlee Ellen Fache passed away peacefully early in the morning on October 5, 2017, surrounded by her family at Columbia House in Invermere, British Columbia. Shirlee was born on August 27, 1926 in Winnipeg Manitoba. She married the love of her life, Eric Fache, soon after he returned from his overseas tour of duty as a pilot in The Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. She and Eric raised their four children, Carol Anne, Stephen, Gordon and David in Winnipeg. Summers were enjoyed at the family cottage on Lake of the Woods, one of Eric and Shirlee's favourite spots, their "other Eden". After raising their family, Shirlee worked for many years as librarian at the Henderson Regional Library, in East Kildonan, and made many lasting friendships with colleagues there. After the passing of her husband Eric, Shirlee moved to British Columbia, initially to Kamloops, and finally to Invermere, to be closer to her daughter Carol Anne, granddaughters Amy and Kyla, and great-granddaughter Everley. Shirlee was a wonderful mother and grandma. She is lovingly remembered by her four children, 10 grandchildren, Amy, Kyla, Claire, Madeleine, Victoria, John, Britney, Garrett, Riley, Carter, and as a special 'Grammy' to her great-granddaughter, Everley. During Shirlee's four years in Invermere she loved sharing in the lives of her grandchildren and the arrival of her first great-grandchild. Shirlee's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Vivian Bond and the staff at Columbia House for their loving care over the last eight months of Shirlee's life. Vivian, an advocate for all those in her care, has been a constant source of strength and support for our mom and each of us. The love and compassion, hugs and goodnight kisses, a bouquet of sunflowers, the teasing that brought a smile, sharing in the football games, just some of the ways this staff is so special... you will be forever remembered. In Shirlee's memory, donations may be made to the Columbia House Enhancement Society, PO Box 2069, Invermere, British Columbia V0A 1K0. These donations will go directly towards the funding of a healing garden which will be prominently located near the entry to Columbia House. This space is being created as a peaceful sanctuary for the enjoyment and comfort of residents, their families and staff. Our family will have a celebration of Mom's life at the family cottage on Lake of the Woods, Ontario. RICK AND SHIRT "ALWAYS"

Just a few weeks ago, Sandie sent me the site she had just found------ Kyla's photos of Shirlee. What a joy. Beautiful photos!! I sleuthed the internet and decided Shirlee lived in Kamloops. Wanted to call her this very weekend. Sorry, we lost touch. Thinking of your Mom brings a smile to my face. I not only loved working with her at the library, but we both enjoyed visiting your parents at their cottage on our way home from Northern Harbour. Our condolences to all the family. - Posted by: Jane & Harold Vogt (friends) on: Oct 07, 2017
