MILDRED (MILLIE) PAULINA BAUCH With great sadness, on October 7, 2017, Mildred (Millie) Paulina Bauch, of Moosehorn, MB, passed peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital, in Ashern, MB, with family by her side. Millie was born on November 13, 1935, in New Scotland. She was the oldest child of Emma and Robert Brown. In 1954, she married Gerhard Bauch at the St. Paul's Church, in New Home and were later blessed with six children. Together they raised their family and farmed in New Home until Gene's passing in 1982. Mom remained on the farm until 1986, when she moved to town and started her informal coffee house where everyone (and anyone) was welcome, and the coffee and dainties were always on the table. Mom was a very strong believer in her church attending the Peace Lutheran Church every Sunday, unless one of her grandchildren needed their Gran to attend one of their sporting events. She loved all her sports, especially baseball in the summer and curling in the winter. If she wasn't sitting in the stands, TSN was always on. Mom was also very involved in her community and always willing to volunteer her time for various committees and events. Leaving to mourn her passing are her children, Philip (Shirley), Debbie (Tim), Lyle (Brendalee), Darrel (Joanne), Dean (Robyn) and Bonnie (Bruce); her grandchildren, Robert (Lisa), Shane (Ashley), Janeen (Mikey), Darren (Lee), Shaelynn, Cameron (Leslie), Sandahl (Brad), Olivia (Steven), Dustilee (TJ), Desmond (Meagan), Shelby (Quentin) and Lindsay (Jeff); 22 great-grandchildren; her brother Colin (Florence); sister Ruth (Glenn) and the Kutzy families. Millie was predeceased by her husband Gene in 1982, son Dennis in 1988, granddaughter Laurel in 1996 and her best friend Mike Kutzy in 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Moosehorn Community Hall, with Dawn Tober officiating. Interment to follow in the New Home Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers are her grandchildren, Robert, Shane, Darren, Cameron, Shaelynn and Dustilee. Honorary pallbearers are all her godchildren and everyone in attendance. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and care-aides of the Lundar Personal Care Home, Ashern Personal Care Home and Lakeshore General Hospital. Also to the Home Care Aides who took such wonderful care of Mom until she was hospitalized. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 68, Moosehorn, MB R0C 2E0 or to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild, in care of Julie Bergner, P.O. Box 721, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0. • The Bauchs were our neighbours in New Home. I've known Mildred my entire life. Though I saw her rarely in my adult years it was always a great pleasure to visit with her when our paths crossed. Reminiscing and catching up, always enjoying her infectious laugh. Sincere condolences to her children, their families and her extended family. - Posted by: Valerie Taylor (Buchholz) (Acquaintance) on: Oct 13, 2017

  • Our most sincere condolences and Prayers for Colin, Ruth and their families. Mildred’s always joyful smile was her “hello” to those she met. She was quickly someone you could have a warm conversatiion sprinkled with laughter and smiles. Let’s not forget her gift of baking up scrumptious goodies. Above all though will be her caring and friendly personality. So many memories... now legacies to treasure and share. - Posted by: Ron & Cyndee St.Hilaire (Family ~ Cyndee’s cousin) on: Oct 12, 2017

  • Despite not seeing Millie for a number of years, the kindness she showed for everyone she met will never be forgotten. I have reflected many times over the years about her visits at work and the cookies that she brought for coffee time. Moosehorn has lost a great citizen. - Posted by: Dennis Laing (Former neighbour) on: Oct 11, 2017
