CAROLE KASPRICK (nee BANACK) January 13, 1950 - October 10, 2017 With family by her side, Carole passed away on October 10, 2017. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 13, 1950 and grew up in the North End. Carole was predeceased by her parents Mary and Charlie Banack and sister Barbara Loeppky. Cherishing her loving, caring and thoughtful nature is her husband Don, of 45 years; two daughters, Kristy (Christopher), Karen (Jarett); three grandsons, Ethan, Logan and Jackson; sister Darlene (Keith); nephew Daniel (Brittany); and niece Raina (Chase). Carole's passion was her family. She cared deeply and was very proud of them. Carole was a huge supporter of her daughters as they pursued careers, relationships and established their homes and families. Carole was a devoted grandma - whether she was throwing perogy parties in her kitchen, baking and icing cookies or travelling many miles by plane to visit and cuddle, she lit up when she was with her grandsons. For over 30 years, Carole had a successful career as a teacher. She spent the majority of those years working in the River East Transcona School Division at Bird's Hill School. Carole inspired and shaped the minds of many students. She enjoyed watching her students learn and grow - taking them to Camp Stephens and creating many art projects. She would often run into past students and enjoyed seeing them all grown up and learning about what they were up to. As well, Carole was very fond of her teaching colleagues and regularly kept in touch with them after her retirement. Carole and Don developed a passion for travel over the years. They took their family on numerous RV trips and explored both the east and west coasts of Canada by car. They also enjoyed 'cruising' in recent years -- visiting numerous Ports of Call in the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Australia and New Zealand. Many heartfelt friendships were made with people they met on these trips. A private service will be held for immediate family only at Brookside Cemetery. Following this, a memorial service to celebrate Carole's life will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation in Carole's honour. "You can shed tears that she is gone Or you can smile because she has lived You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left..." - David Harkins

  • Dear Don & Family, In disbelief I read about Carole's passing. Words can't express how I feel. How I wish I could have seen and talked to her lately. Carole and I worked together for many years at Bird's Hill School. She was a gift to all of her students. After retirement, whenever the two of us got together, whether it be at Gauthier's or church there was never enough time to finish our talk sessions. My deepest sympathy go out to you, your girls and their families. Carole was a great friend and she will be missed dearly. - Posted by: Jan Butler (Colleague & Friend) on: Oct 14, 2017

  • My condolences to you, Carole's family, as you grieve the loss of a wife, mother, and grandmother. I understand the pain you are feeling at this time. I have many memories of my years at Emerson School where I first met the family. It was a pleasure to teach Kristy and Karen in my library classes. Carole never missed coming in to see me on Parent/Teacher conference days. She always visited whenever she was in the school. I hope that the many happy family memories will bring comfort as you move forward through the days and weeks ahead. Kristy and Karen, I am sending you each a big hug to convey my feelings of sympathy. Sincerely,Shirley Augustine - Posted by: Shirley Augustine () on: Oct 14, 2017
